He has represented rehabilitation companies, nurses, doctors, hospitals and long-term acute care facilities in a broad range of areas including, false claims matters, contractual disputes, class actions, malpractice claims and recovery of unpaid insurance benefits.

Preston works extensively with corporate counsel and risk management professionals to develop strategies for their company's litigation and assist with the implementation of risk management measures.

Preston provides advice to healthcare CEOs and other corporate management regarding litigation strategy, evaluation of counsel, case assessment and corporate litigation issues. In addition, companies have retained Preston to provide M & A litigation review and exposure analysis.

  • Obtained zero verdicts and dismissals for defendants in healthcare, long-term care, pharmaceutical and rehabilitation companies in large exposure False Claims Act matters
  • Prevented class certification in class action matters around the country
  • Operated as lead counsel in Hurricane Katrina litigation involving allegations of euthanasia that attracted international media exposure
  • Negotiated settlements in high exposure/high profile matters throughout the United States
  • Worked as national counsel for one of the largest nursing home chains in America and was extensively involved in their risk management, insurance issues, M & A and litigation issues.
  • Worked as part of litigation teams in both Louisiana and Texas that successfully obtained dismissals of several False Claims Actions against companies engaged in pharmaceutical, rehabilitation and long-term care. The claims dismissed collectively included demands for recovery in excess of $500 million.
